The Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Organic Integrated Circuits addresses the national strategic needs for organic integrated circuit manufacturing. It has developed a full-chain research direction for materials and devices, design and manufacturing, and applications of organic integrated circuits. The laboratory has established a system of advantageous materials for organic integrated circuits, solved the shortage of design and manufacturing technologies, and aims to lead internationally in the field of organic integrated circuits.
The laboratory has a team of distinguished scholars, including 9 national talent awardees (such as National Distinguished Young Scholars, Changjiang Scholars, and National Top Talents), and over 10 national-level young talents. Among them, Professor Hu Wenping, the lab director, is a Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor appointed by the Ministry of Education and a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. He is one of the earliest scientists in China to engage in organic field-effect transistor research. The related research has resulted in the publication of over 1,100 high-level papers in top journals like Nature and Science, the authorization of over 50 invention patents, the publication of 4 academic monographs, and the receipt of 5 national and provincial-level awards.
The laboratory has undertaken 15 major national research projects, including the National Key R&D Program projects, major projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, major research plan integration projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and innovation research group projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
